Sequencing the full placard first and then highlighting the icon in yellow is best (in the third swf posted). Also the fade in tween is less jarring than without (like the second swf posted).

Looks like there is some type of digital glitch (splits the image) occurring in the first placard though (in the third swf posted). Or maybe bloggers upload, I'm not sure.

I didn't "hear" a heartbeat, if that is what you intended. However, if you alter the timing slightly (on the third swf posted), I think you can "visually" represent a heartbeat. This subtlety will be nice, even if the viewer doesn't consciously pick up on it.

E.g. A quicker transition needs to occur between the full placard and the yellow highlight, and a slower transition (just like you have now) between the yellow highlight and the next placard.
